Now in Charlotte, South Carolina, where the Omni Hotel upgraded us to corner mini suite. It is an odd shaped room surrounded by windows with a great view.
Last night we had dinner using the gift card from Mert's Heart and Soul from the contest (we only used half of it so we'll go back later). We had fried catfish and blackened pork chops with yams, salad, red beans, home fries and cornbread. We went back this morning for brunch and had southern fried chicken and Carolina bbq pork with collard greens, okra and tomatoes, salad, Charleston red rice and cornbread. Delicious.
Then we moved on to the VanLandingham Estate and Betty Feezor (a local cooking show celebrity from the 40s and 50s) room which is also part of the contest winnings.

What did you eat? Just telling us the name of the restaurant doesn't completely satisfy your fans. We want to know more! (OK, not everything, maybe, but a little more wouldn't hurt.)
