Our new Bed Set

Hooray!

We finally have a bed set for the master bedroom! This is the set that we have liked the best since the beginning of our long search for bedroom furniture.

Hallelujah!

No mattress yet - we are still using an air mattress.

We will wait to buy a mattress next season.

But we are very excited!

More bunnies

We had a couple of cute bunnies arrive together today and we can't resist taking pictures of them.

Brunch at Tanque Verde Ranch

Today we joined our friends Don and Penny and Richard and Grace at the Sunday Brunch at Tanque Verde Ranch.

We had a great time - Penny ate dessert first - the rest of us had dessert with our entrees, salads and finally dessert officially.

We ate toooooooooo much - bad for the diet but had a great time.

There were also several saguaros blooming beautifully on the grounds.

Downtown Tucson Second Saturday

Michael and I have been talking about walking around downtown Tucson since we bought our home here.

Last night we went to dinner with our friends Pamm and Andy and Pamm suggested that we go to the Caffe Milano downtown for dinner - a wonderful experience - then participate in the first Second Saturday event.

First, we listened to the Portland Cello Project perform at the restored Fox Theatre (circa 1930). We had never heard of cellos consisting of the entire group but it was wonderful! The theatre was lovingling restored and the acoustics were perfect. Pamm said that as a child this is the theatre she used to come to and then she added that her mother had done the same when she was growing up in Tucson.

We walked along Congress Street past the food vendors where the food looked great but we had just finished dinner so we didn't partake. We passed a Wii setup where people were performing Beatles songs along with the Beatles - The Beatles did better!

We entered the Hotel Congress where John Dillinger was captured and to this day it is still an operating hotel. Spent some time looking at the display of newspapers articles about the capture then saw the Tap Room where he and his gang had spent some time.

Visited the train station and Maynard's Restaurant close to the Hotel Congress where Michael posed with his heroes Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.

Listened to a group called "Catacoustic Groove" - an all male a capella group who were fantastic! While we were there they were singing oldies from the 50s and 60s but they perform a variety of music styles.

Our friends were terrific tour guides and they kept seeing people they know.

It was a great evening and an introduction to a part of Tucson that we did not know existed! Tucson keeps surprising us!

Bunko Pajama Night

Once a month for most of the year 8-12 women get together at someone's home for dinner and bunko.

Last Tuesday night Mary was the hostess and declared it to be a pajama party so we all showed up in our pajamas - including her 6 year old daughter. Mary is in the pink pajamas.

Kayleigh, the 6 year old, took the group photo and did a good job for her first time. She also won the prize of $25 for the most bunkos.

We all had a lot of fun.
