Our new Alarm System

We finally decided on an alarm company and this last week Kent, the technician, spent two solid days installing it.

As usual, there were quirks in our prewired system and when the garage was rebuilt after the fire in 1998/1999 they just would up the wires and put them in the ceiling. 

Kent, Michael and I spent hours trying to thread them to the right spots but we succeeded.

Then the small windows had very small openings and Kent had to do each one in a different way.

The system is up and running now (although we have one small problem that Kent will fix Tuesday morning) and last night we had it turned on for the first time.

Of course, I opened an outside door and made Michael jump out of bed to turn off the system before the company called here - I have to retrain myself now.

Surprise Visit

Last week we had a knock on the door and lo and behold the original owner's son was calling. He wanted to show his girlfriend our home while he was visiting from the east coast.

We had a lovely visit and learned more about our home's history and his parents.

Mother and Clem's Visit

My Mother and Clem drove down from Apache Junction for a visit last week.

The sun cooperated and heated the pool to the high 80s and we had a lovely time swimming.

Enjoyed the cacti blooming and took the tram up to the top of Sabino Canyon then walked part of the way back down.
